According to reports, a pharmacist in Wisconsin was arrested by police after he was accused of removing 57 vials of COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna from the refrigerator at a local hospital. 46-year-old Steven Bradenburg was arrested and taken to the Ozaukee County jail.
Police reported that the man left the coronavirus vaccine out, “knowing it would not be usable.” Reports noted that Brandenburg admitted in a written statement that they purposely took out the vials with the knowledge that they would be useless as a result.
Brandenburg reportedly admitted that the vials were left out for a long period of time on December 24 and 25. The vaccine can last up to 12 hours outside of being refrigerated, according to Moderna. Brandenburg was charged with criminal damage to property, adulterine a prescription drug, and felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
