Rape charges stemming from a 2017 indictment against Mystikal have been dropped due to a lack of evidence. A grand jury returned a No True Bill against Mystikal, real name Michael Lawrence Tyler, 50, who was arrested on a first-degree rape charge in 2017.

Following his arrest in 2017, a grand jury indicted Tyler on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. “However, additional evidence and information were discovered and the case was resubmitted to this second grand jury in the interest of justice,” the district attorney's office noted on Thursday. “Based on the grand jury’s decision, the Caddo Parish district attorney’s office will dismiss the charges pending against  Mr. Tyler.”
