R. Kelly's sex trafficking and racketeering case in New York is set to go to trial in April 2021. The trial was originally intended to begin in July 2020, but the date was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jurors for the case will be selected in mid-March. District Judge Ann Donnelly approved the prosecution's motion for an anonymous jury earlier this month due to Kelly's "history of obstructing the judicial process, the potential for juror intimidation and the intensity of media attention given to this case."

The R&B singer was previously denied his release from jail last month after being stabbed and assaulted by a fellow inmate. R. Kelly's trial is scheduled to begin on April 7, 2021.
