According to reports, the Trump appointee in charge of handling the transition from Donald Trump’s administration to a Joe Biden-led administration has refused to sign off the paperwork needed to start the process.

Reports noted that Trump appointed Emily Murphy to be the administrator for the General Service Administration. That role requires the administrator to sign off on paperwork that would transfer millions of dollars along with access to government officials and office spaces located in various agencies. The sign off also includes access to equipment that is authorized for the transition teams of the election winner.

As of now, Murphy has not written a letter, and with Trump reportedly refusing to concede as of now, this could lead to a possible delay in the presidential transition.

GSA spokeswoman Pamela Pennington issued a statement on the matter, saying, “An ascertainment has not yet been made, and its Administrator will continue to abide by and fulfill, all requirements under the law.” Stay tuned for more details.
