It was recently revealed that Joe Biden would become the 46th president of the United States, and many outlets reported the news despite Trump’s campaign releasing statements saying they will dispute the outcome. Since then, CNN contributor Van Jones has given his take on the news and cried as he spoke about the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

The former Barack Obama advisor said, “It’s easier to be a parent this morning, it’s easier to be a dad. It’s easier to tell your kids character matters, it matters. Tell them the truth matters. Being a good person matters.” As he was saying this, Jones could be seen crying and wiping his eyes. Jones also mentioned the impact of those lost to police brutality like George Floyd and said Biden’s win is “vindication for a lot of people who have really suffered.” Watch above.
