The president continued to sew the seeds of mistrust in the electoral process as he delivered remarks at the White House on Thursday. Trump claimed that the cities of Detroit and Philadelphia are attempting to rig the election. He said that he easily won if ballot counters were only counting "legal ballots" instead of "illegal ballots" he alleges are being counted.
"If you look at the legal votes, I win very easily," he told reporters during the White House briefing. "They're trying very obviously to commit fraud," he said, aiming his comments particularly at Detroit and Philly. "I've said very strongly that mail-in ballots are going to end up being a disaster," he continued. "It's getting worse and worse every day."
Trump also noted that he anticipates "a lot of litigation" as he and his campaign contest election results. "We can't be disgraced by having something like this happen," he said. "There's been a lot of shenanigans, and we can't stand for that in our country."
