Update 10/23/2020 1:54pm:

Busta Rhymes unsuccessfully challenged T.I. to a Verzuz earlier this week. The King of the South declined the challenge due to the generational gap between the two but was more welcoming to the idea of battling fellow Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy.

Busta Rhymes responded to Tip's refusal by light-heartedly taunting him during a four-minute Instagram post. He started by sending love in T.I.'s direction and congratulating him on his recent album, The L.I.B.R.A. However, Busta Rhymes called the Atlanta rapper out for backing down from his challenge.

"It's okay to let people know that you backed down from this Verzuz offer," Busta Rhymes said. "Come on now, let's be honest. It's okay, Tip. You respectfully declined, I guess that's the fancy way to say that you turned down this Verzuz battle. You wanna talk about generational gap? That's a very...respectful way of not saying that you don't really want to sit in the smoking section with me and that you actually just turned down the opportunity to do this Verzuz battle with me. It's cool, Tip. You can say it, King."

"You should just say it, man," he continued. "Just let the world know truly that you don't want this bust a** that you was about to get. It's okay. Cause, see, the difference between me and you, my brother, and we're both kings, I'm actually a god. I don't run from no situation and age don't make no difference to me. You know what makes the difference? The work you put in."

Busta Rhymes added that a generational gap shouldn't matter if enough work has been put in and the artist has a large enough catalog to match up with anyone. The Brooklyn MC concluded by stating that he'd be willing to battle two artists at the same time.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz have hinted at some of the possible line-ups for the next season of Verzuz challenges. Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes made it known he's interested in a Verzuz battle during his recent interview with Fat Joe. While speaking with Joe, Busta Rhymes called out T.I. and begged him to "step in the ring."

T.I. politely declined the offer while on Instagram Live. The Atlanta rapper stated that the generational gap between the two may be too wide for the battle to make sense.

"Busta's one of the most phenomenal talents of our time," T.I. said. "I salute and respect Busta a whole lot. I just think the generational gap might be a little too much."

However, T.I. suggested that Busta Rhymes and Twista challenge each other before addressing a possible Verzuz battle against Young Jeezy.

"Incredible amount of Young [Jeezy] and his catalog, personal patna of mine," he responded. "But if Young wanted this smoke, he'd say it."
