Federal prosecutors in Baltimore have entered into plea negotiations with both rapper YGG Tay and his co-defendant, attorneys in the case recently confirmed through court records. YGG Tay and his co-defendant, Christopher Jerry, are charged with distributing narcotics and possessing guns "in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime." The charging documents allege YGG Tay supplied cocaine and heroin to a Baltimore-based gang known as Trained To Go, or TTG.

If plea deal negotiations fall through, YGG Tay and Jerry will receive a trial date, likely for sometime in mid-2021. If convicted of all charges, YGG Tay faces a maximum of life in prison. According to court records, attorneys in the case are supposed to provide an update on their plea deal negotiations by Nov. 5. YGG Tay has been in federal custody in Maryland since he was arrested by the FBI. He has filed several failed motions for release, most recently in March, when a federal judge described him as the leader of a drug trafficking organization.

According to the Baltimore Sun, in 2018 prosecutors accused YGG Tay of putting a $20,000 bounty on a man who'd snitched on TTG. YGG Tay told the newspaper the claim was "totally false" and "they have no evidence." Prosecutors have not filed charges based upon the allegation.
