Update 10/17/2020 4:38pm:

Previously, it was revealed that actor Jerry Harris of Netflix’s ‘Cheer’ docuseries was arrested on a single child pornography charge after reportedly being under investigation by the FBI. The Netflix star allegedly solicited nudes from teenaged boys. Investigators reportedly received screenshots of alleged communication that went on between them and Harris. Now, news surfaced, noting Harris has been denied bond in his case.

Prosecutors in the case have deemed the Netflix star a “serial sexual predator” and have blocked bond for Harris. Prosecutors claim Harris wouldn’t be able to control himself and would be prone to repeating his crimes. The legal team for Harris said their client had no way of posing a threat when he has to regularly speak to a psychiatrist and has been banned from the internet. However, the judge on the case was not buying the claim. Stay tuned for more details.

Original 09/17/2020 9:15pm:

According to reports, Jerry Harris, star of the Netflix series Cheer, was arrested on child pornography production charges on Thursday. Harris received a single charge of the production of child pornography per Assistant U.S. Attorney, Joseph D. Fitzpatrick.

Harris was under investigation by the FBI over concerns that he solicited sex from minors back in May 2019. However, it was revealed that he was arrested for soliciting nude photos from teens. The parents of 2 male children, both 14-years-old, allege that Harris contacted their sons and “repeatedly solicited child pornography images and videos.” The boys provided investigators with screenshots of communication between themselves (respectively) and Harris.

The feds say Harris attempted to solicit sex from the boys on multiple occasions. In response to the allegations and subsequent arrest, a Netflix spokesperson said the company is "shocked" by the claims, and emphasized that "any abuse of minors is a terrible crime and we respect the legal process."
