Following their tense and awkward interaction, LisaRaye addressed how she handled sister Da Brat's surprise visit. She said that she hopes viewers have looked beyond the viral clip and watched the episode in its entirety for context. "It's bigger than just, oh, you moved on with your life because she been grown for a very long time," said LisaRaye. "What I want to apologize to each and every one of you all for is that this is not the kind of show, that was not the kind of show that we do and that is not how we interact with each other. I don't ever want that to happen again. I apologize to each and every one of you queens because you guys are my friends and my support system." She concluded by saying that her relationship with her sister will be repaired "in God's time."

LisaRaye and her sister Da Brat made headlines following their awkward exchange during an episode of Cocktails With Queens, where Da Brat made a surprise visit for LisaRaye's birthday. LisaRaye couldn't hide her discontent for Da Brat surprising her, as she revealed that they hadn't spoken for months. LisaRaye stayed quiet for 6 minutes before cursing her co-hosts out, which led to Vivica A. Fox stating what everyone was thinking when she said, "Sh*t went all the way left!" 

LisaRaye explained why she got upset in a new episode of the show, revealing that she's hurt that Da Brat hasn't spoken to her about personal things going on in her life. 

LisaRaye stated, "That's my sister, that ain't going nowhere. I just gotta wait until she feels comfortable to tell me about life... her life. Because I thought that I would know. But, evidently, I had to take a step back and I'm just trying to figure out how far back to step, that's all. And if I step too far back, then you may have to take the long arm to get me back, is what I'm saying."

She added, "When I had sh*t going on, I shared it with everybody. So, when you've got sh*t going on and you're happy, that's a happy time in your life that you wanna share with the people you love, but I had to hear it from the blogs. I had to hear it from the radio stations, I had to hear it on Rickey Smiley, I had to hear it from everybody else. I called her auntie and was like, 'yo, what's up, what's happening?' [She told me], 'she gone call you'. Okay!"

LisaRaye's Cocktails With Queens co-hosts, Vivica A. Fox, Claudia Jordan, and Syleena Johnson, celebrated her birthday by surprising her with an appearance by her half-sister Da Brat. However, the co-hosts were unaware of the rift between the two sisters as they hadn't spoken since the beginning of the pandemic.

Once Da Brat appeared on the Zoom call, LisaRaye started crying and remained silent before congratulating Da Brat on her engagement to Jessica Dupart. But LisaRaye also expressed to Da Brat that she was hurt after learning of her sister's relationship through the blogs, and said "I guess my place is not what I thought it was."

"I just did not want to hear it from the blog," LisaRaye said to Da Brat. "I didn’t get to hear it from you. I had to see it from someplace else, so I’m hurt. That’s what I am."

When her co-hosts attempted to ease the tension on the call, LisaRaye unleashed a stream of profanities towards her co-hosts and sister.

"I don't give a f*** what y'all say!" LisaRaye said 9:55 into the clip. "I don't give a f*** what y'all say...at all. Ya'll don't know s***...at all. She do. You do. You do."
