Following the news that Donald Trump's adviser Hope Hicks tested positive for coronavirus, the president and First Lady Melania Trump are awaiting their COVID-19 test results and are preparing to quarantine. Trump told Sean Hannity on Fox News that he “spent a lot of time” with Hicks during his recent trip to Cleveland, OH for the first presidential debate and Minnesota for his campaign rally.
Trump, who is rarely ever seen wearing a mask, claims it's far too difficult to social distance because people are always coming up to him to express their thanks for his governance. “It’s very, very hard when you are with people from the military or from law enforcement and they come over to you,” said the president. “They want to hug you and they want to kiss you because we really have done such a great job for them. And you get close to them — and things happen.”
“I just went for a test and we’ll see what happens. Who knows?” said Trump. After his interview, Trump tweeted, “In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!”
