Kyrie Irving praised Kevin Durant during a recent appearance on Durant's The ETCs podcast. During the episode, Kyrie stated that KD is the first teammate he trusts to take and make clutch shots.

"I felt like I was the best option on every team I’ve played for down the stretch," Kyrie said. "This is the first time in my career where I can be like 'that mother****** can make that shot too.'"

Considering Kyrie played and won a championship with LeBron James, some felt this was an indirect shot at his former teammate. The NBA point guard said he wasn't trying to slight any former teammates but he always felt like he was the best option in close game situations.

While Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving joined forces prior to the 2019-2020 NBA season, an Achilles injury forced Durant to sit out the entire season while Irving opted to not play in the bubble during the COVID-19 pandemic.
