Social media users responded to an Instagram Live clip of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland arguing over a potential 'Verzuz' matchup between Missy Elliott and Janet Jackson. While Timbaland believed it would be a great pairing due to the female icons' friendship, Swizz not only dismissed the idea but expressed doubt that Janet Jackson had enough catalog to participate with Missy Elliott.

When Timbaland brought up the idea of Missy and Janet joining each other, Swizz shook his head and replied, "No, because Missy could be multiple people. Janet just gotta be Janet."

In response to Swizz's comment, Timbaland doubled down on the idea and highlighted Missy and Janet's friendship before emphasizing that Missy would want to celebrate with an artist of her caliber.

"Missy’s in the comments right there," Swizz responded. "She says, ‘No Missy versus Busta, I’m his twin, cheerleader. My money on Bus-A-Bus.' And we said that. Sis, we need you and everybody tag Missy ’cause she’s in the comments. Tell her that we need her."

When Timbaland lets viewers know that Missy said Janet Jackson's catalog was too big, Swizz said, "I don't think so. I don't agree with that."

Given Janet Jackson's list of musical accolades and longevity, music fans called out Swizz Beatz for his opinion on Janet Jackson's catalog. Following the criticism for his comments, the producer doubled down on comments and tweeted, "I still to this day don’t think Janet vs Missy is a good match up. I said what I said y’all know that match up doesn’t make sense at all @verzuztv love and blessings."

Most recently, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight came together for a 'Verzuz' celebration which included a surprise appearance from Dionne Warwick.
