According to reports, a 70-year-old Florida man was beaten up after he reportedly asked a man at a gas station to wear a mask while practicing social distancing inside the shop. Police noted the men began to argue back and forth around 7:30 p.m. on September 8, and the older man reportedly went outside of the Citgo mart after paying for his items.

24-year-old Rovester Ingram followed the man outside and started kicking and punching the older man according to police reports. From there, the victim tried to go back inside of the Citgo but was dragged out by Ingram by his hair. After beating the man some more, Ingram fled the scene.

Ingram was identified by police in the Winter Park area based on security footage and was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, kidnapping, and inflicting bodily harm.
