After a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special was teased this past August, Will Smith officially confirmed on Instagram that he's back with his sitcom 30 years after the show's debut.

"Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted!" Smith's caption read. "So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax! RIP James. #FreshPrince30th."

Smith shared two photos of the Banks reunion, but the second photo was a welcomed surprise. The first photo shows Smith with all of the main cast members while the second photo shows Smith sharing a laugh with the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert.

The reunion between Hubert and Smith came as a shocker since Hubert has been vocal about her disdain for Smith and said a reunion would never happen. She also blamed Will Smith for her firing after three seasons.

In addition to the reunion special, an official merch line was revealed and Smith previously announced a Fresh Prince drama reboot had been picked up for two seasons on the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock. The HBO Max reunion special is expected to premiere around Thanksgiving.
