Fans appeared to have booed the players for both Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans as they locked arms in solidarity before the coin toss on Thursday night's game. A number of fans voiced their chagrin during the moment that was meant to symbolize unity. The boos naturally elicited a strong reaction from social media users.

The Chiefs also played "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," the song affectionately referred to as the Black national anthem, by James Weldon Johnson. Players for the Chiefs knelt and raised their fists while the entire Texans squad left the field after locking arms.
