Jimmy Winfrey pled guilty to two counts of violating Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. In return, he'll have a number of charges dropped including four counts of violation of the RICO Act, six other counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, 12 counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal damage to property in the first degree, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The alleged gunman originally received a 10-year sentence, in addition to 10 years on probation, before his conviction was overturned in 2018.

Winfrey has been sentenced to seven years in prison and will receive credit for time served. However, the reason he hasn't been released yet is because of an unrelated outstanding warrants case according to Winfrey's lawyer, Steve Sadow. Winfrey will also have to pay $100,000 in restitution to Alvin Lewis, the tour bus driver who suffered spinal cord, rotator cuff, and psychological injuries as a result of the 2015 incident.

Alvin Lewis accused Birdman and Young Thug of striking secret deals, which is why they never received charges despite being named bu Cobb County prosecutors as co-conspirators. Lewis also claimed the phone records, recorded confessions, promises of payment prove there was complicity among Winfrey, Birdman, and Young Thug.

Birdman has denied the allegations and Young Thug has not commented on the incident.
