G Herbo has always been vocal about mental health and the effects of growing up in Chicago on his mental health. Now, the rapper has launched a mental health initiative “Swervin’ Through Stress,’ which is geared towards young Black youth.

The initiative finds G Herbo teaming up with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, InnoPsych, and Audiomack, and they are looking to provide 12 weeks of free therapy to Black youth ages 18-25. Along with that, the initiative will be offering a hotline monitored by professionals to speak to youth. The hotline will be provided by InnoPsych and NAMI, and both organizations will use their resources to connect the youth with appropriate therapists.

G Herbo gave more details on the initiative, saying, “Swervin’ Through Stress is a project I put together to put 150 kids through therapy. At their age, you never know how critical it can be to have someone to talk to—to have someone help you better yourself and your situation.”
