Aloe Blacc starts out this clip by speaking about working a corporate job after graduating from college, and doing music on the side. When asked about the origin of his name, Aloe Blacc explained that his music is "smooth like lotion," which is where Aloe came from. He then added that he was inspired by De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Native Tongues, which is where Blacc came from. Aloe Blacc also responded to DJ Vlad pointing out that the double "C" is linked to Crips, which you can hear more about above.
