Red Bull has been under fire for photos that surfaced this past week, showing a racist slide that was shown during an internal meeting in February 2020. The slide resulted in the firing of three top executives at the company.

On the map, it shows America with the caption “America!!! We’re #1,” while Mexico says “Coffee comes from there I think.” Along with that, an arrow that points to the Caribbean says, “Cruise ships go here.”

Since the meeting, employees have reportedly complained to Red Bull’s HR, with nothing happening afterward. However, the head of global culture and marketing, Florian Klaass, was fired, as they were the ones responsible for the racist slide. Amy Taylor, the North America president, and chief marketing officer and Stefan Kozak, the chief executive of North America, were fired as well.

Red Bull issued a statement on the matter, saying, “We reject racism in every form, we always have, and we always will. Red Bull has always put people and their dreams and accomplishments at its core and values the contribution of each and every person – no matter who they are. We want everyone who feels this way to be welcome in Red Bull.”
