According to TMZ, a North Carolina woman who gained the wrong type of popularity when she went viral for a racist rant has died after being struck by a fire truck. Rachel Dawn Ruit, 41, was hit by an Asheville Fire Department truck on Monday afternoon when she stepped out into traffic. She was rushed to the hospital where she was said to be in critical condition. However, Asheville authorities later announced that Ruit died from her injuries.
Ruit is known for a series of viral videos where she hurled racist slurs and other displays of verbal harassment. She was recently arrested after a July 4 incident in Asheville where she was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and second-degree trespassing.
