Update 07/11/2020 3:55pm:

Previously, NFL player Deandre Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar were charged with multiple counts of armed robbery with a firearm related to an incident that took place at a Florida cookout on May 13. Baker reportedly turned himself in for the incident. Since then, Baker was accused of trying to pay off four witnesses in the armed robbery case against him.

Police are saying they have Instagram messages and video evidence that prove Baker allegedly $55,000 that was split between the four victims for them to recant their stories. Along with that, Quinton Dunbar’s attorney allegedly contacted the cops to let them know the four witnesses in the case “have recanted their sworn/recorded statements against Dunbar.”

However, Deandre Baker’s attorney Bradford Cohen says, “Deandre has been saying since day 1 that this was an extortion scene. Nothing from that day has changed. Any texts from [Baker] to these extortionists were made to keep them on the hook, as we informed authorities of this extortion the minute money was demanded."

Cohen continued: “Deandre was with his attorneys, including myself, on the day in question, and I was in contact with the authorities at the same time of the extortion demand. We have no affidavits from the alleged victims. Our affidavits are from independent witnesses." Stay tuned for more details in this situation.
