Recently, rumors have surfaced in reference to Wayfair and their expensive pricing on certain pieces of furniture. Many have alleged that the company is using those expensive pieces to conduct human trafficking.
Via Reddit, a user posted a screenshot of Wayfair’s armoirs that cost five figures and more, with human names for the products. The screenshot showed storage cabinets that were named Alyvia, Samiyah, Yaritza, and Neriah, which coincide with the names of missing persons cases.
Wayfair issued a statement on the matter, saying, “There is, of course, no truth to these claims. The products in question are industrial grade cabinets that are accurately priced.” Since the news of the trafficking allegations surfaced, Wayfair has removed images of the products from their site, and also noted they plan on changing the names of the products.
