Sources close to Kanye believe he's in the midst of a bipolar episode that has impacted his decision-making skills and recent actions, according to TMZ. This comes after Kanye's Forbes interview, where he spoke about vaccines being the "mark of the beast," and his plans to run for president in 2020.
TMZ reports that those close to Kanye say he suffers from a serious bout with his bipolar once a year, which they believe he's currently in, and they're worried about some of the comments he's made since announcing his presidential run over the weekend. In the Forbes interview, Kanye stated that he's running as part of a new party called the "Birthday Party," and he admitted that he's not sure about the policies he'll be supporting as president.
Kanye also made controversial statements, including that "Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work." Planned Parenthood responded to Kanye, with Nia Martin-Robinson, the Director of Black Leadership and Engagement at Planned Parenthood’s national headquarters explaining the importance of Planned Parenthood in the Black community.
She stated, "Black women are free to make our own decisions about our bodies and pregnancies, and want and deserve to have access to the best medical care available. Any insinuation that abortion is Black genocide is offensive and infantilizing. The real threat to Black communities’ safety, health, and lives stems from lack of access to quality, affordable health care, police violence and the criminalization of reproductive health care by anti-abortion opposition."
