After rapping for two years, Richie explained how he formed the group "415" and recorded his first song, "Don't Do It" at the end of the summer in 1989. Due to the timing of its release, Richie explained how his song traveled around as people took the cassette with them to college, and he spoke about Snoop Dogg naming him as an influence early in his career.
