According to reports, quarterback Patrick Mahomes just signed a contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs for ten years, in a contract that will reportedly get him over $400 million.

The reported extension signed by Mahomes will have him with the Chiefs through the 2031 NFL season, and it is speculated that Mahomes could rake in $40 million per year. Along with that, his contract could reportedly be worth more because Mahomes’ salary is tied to a certain percentage of the Kansas City Chiefs’ total cap.

News of this comes after the Chiefs locked in 24-year-old Mahomes for another two seasons based on his fifth-year option for the 2021 season. For those unaware, Mahomes is the first quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl and league MVP before turning 25.
