Previously, footage surfaced of an NYPD SUV running over protesters who were out marching for justice for George Floyd. Now, the same type of incident has gone down again, with the Detroit Police plowing through Black Lives Matter protesters.

The situation took place in Southwest Detroit, with protesters attempting to make their way back to Patton Park, where they initially started protesting. However, a portion of the crowd was focused on a Detroit PD cop car, which led to a standoff. From there, the cop hit the gas hard, mowing down protesters in the process. One of the protesters said the officer “ran over a couple people's arms, feet. He ran over her phone. I think I was the last person on the car. I was just holding onto the car. I could feel him speeding up, and then he did one of these and he flinged me off the car." As a result, medics on the scene treated ten people.

Since then, Detroit Police Chief James Craig addressed the situation, and actually defended the officers who are responsible for the incident, saying he feels they “did the right thing.”
