Last year, it was revealed that the Crips tried to file a trademark for Nipsey Hussle’s iconic slogan, “The Marathon Continues.” Now, news surfaced, noting Nipsey Hussle’s family is at a standstill with the Crips over the withdrawal of the trademark for the slogan.
Previously, Crips LLC apologized to the family of the late rapper and entrepreneur and made it clear they had planned on withdrawing the legal trademark. The Crips also “respectively vow to support the wishes of Lauren London and the Asghedom family.” Since then, the family of the late rapper has reportedly heard nothing regarding the withdrawal, and the Crips LLC reportedly never went through with the action, which caused Nip’s family to take legal action in the form of filing oppositions to the trademark application.
It was noted the Crips didn’t fight the opposition to the trademark, which means their application was abandoned earlier in June. Stay tuned for more details.
