A series of tweets from hip-hop legend Ice Cube has him facing accusations of antisemitism. It began with a post of black cube next to Egyptian hieroglyphs followed by a post showing the black cube in various U.S. cities and captioned the meme "Black Cube of Saturn." He then followed that post with the black cube inserted in the middle of the six-pointed Star of David.
The posts prompted many to call out Cube for perceived antisemitism while others wondered if his account had been hacked. This isn't the first time Ice Cube has faced accusations of antisemitism. Back in 1991 with the release of his classic sophomore album Death Certificate, Cube pushed back against claims of antisemitism found in his lyrics. According to Cube in '91, “I’m not antisemitic. I’m anti-Jerry Heller."
Ice Cube came forward after the initial controversy and doubled down on his posts. "This is CUBE. My account has not been hacked. I speak for no organization," he tweeted. "I only speak for the meek people of the earth. We will not expect crumbles from your table. We have to power of almighty God backing us all over the earth. NO MORE TALKING. Repent." Cube followed that with, "I will continue to keep our people motivated, informed, and provide simple solutions to help solve the problems that America has caused our people. These are my actual facts as I see it. You can take it or let it alone."
