Previously, a North Carolina teacher named Joann Tucker took to Facebook and posted a meme that said “If we want to make America great again we will have to make evil people fear punishment again.” Now, the former Brunswick County Schools teacher is facing backlash for her post, which caused the Brunswick County Schools to issue a statement on the matter.
Via Facebook, the school district said they were made aware of Tucker’s post, and made it clear she was actually a substitute teacher. They noted that while they were investigating the woman, she submitted her resignation on May 26. News also surfaced noting she was reportedly the recipient of Trump’s teacher of the year award. Brunswick County Schools also said that since resigning, she has not ben an employee of the district.
