According to reports, FBI Louisville, Kentucky State Police, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are investigating the death of popular restaurant owner David McAtee who was shot and killed by police on Monday morning. The Louisville Metro Police officers, in conjunction with the National Guard, were reportedly trying to disperse a crowd around 12:15 AM in the parking lot near McAtee's restaurant, Yaya's BBQ when shots were fired.
Authorities say that they are still interviewing persons of interest but it remains unclear which officer fired the fatal shot which struck McAtee. During Monday's news conference Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Steve Conrad said, “It’s very clear that many people do not trust the police. That is an issue we’re going to work on and work through."
