Recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci spoke to a Senate committee and pointed out that there are many "checkpoints" that need to be hit before the United States can safely re-open. The infectious diseases doctor was candid about the possibilities that Americans face if states overlook the checkpoints to ensure properly re-opening, saying "If some areas, cities, and states jump over those checkpoints and prematurely open up, my concern is we will start to see little spikes that will turn into [coronavirus] outbreaks."

Dr. Fauci spoke on the 'Opening Up America Again' plan pushed by the White House that reported includes three 14-day phases for states to considering taking on as states re-open businesses and schools. Fauci noted that improperly re-opening states would trigger an outbreak that would be uncontrollable, and would push back the recovery of the United States' econony. Along with that, he said noted it could lead to "suffering and death." As of now, 80,000 people have passed away due to coronavirus in the United States.
