The traumatic viral video of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery's de facto lynching at the hands of Gregory and Travis McMichael has finally led to the arrest of the two men despite murdering Arbery back in February. Multiple reports were confirmed by the  Georgia Bureau of Investigation who released a statement announcing the arrests Thursday evening. The McMichaels were booked at the Glynn County Jail and were both charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

According to USA Today, Alan Tucker, a criminal defense attorney in Brunswick, revealed that he released the now-viral video of Arbery's horrific murder. "There was entirely too much speculation, rumor, false narratives and outright lies surrounding the event," said Tucker. "My sole purpose in releasing the video was absolute transparency because my community was being ripped apart by erroneous accusations and assumptions."
