The spread of coronavirus worldwide has hit hard, especially in the United States. Many have been dealing with the effects of COVID-19, with the government giving interesting responses to the death toll rising, along with the limited amount of information related to the virus. Now, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has given her thoughts on Trump's coronavirus task force and their response to the virus, saying they are "clueless."
While speaking to Rolling Stone, Lightfoot was asked to describe her interactions with the White House during this time. Lightfoot said, "It seems like they’re really clueless about what the realities are on the ground in cities and states. All kinds of towns and localities don’t have large and robust public-health systems and resources like we do. What [the White House] has been doing and not doing has been wreaking havoc at the local level."
Lightfoot noted the issues with the way Trump was handling the coronavirus pandemic started when the White House issued a notice that all flights from China into the U.S. would be sent to various airports across the nation, including Chicago. She says she wasn't given any advance notice, and that she and her team spent "a weekend of frustration trying to figure out what that meant."
