According to Billboard, a Jamaican appeals court upheld the murder conviction of music star Vybz Kartel stemming from a 2014 ruling. The local press released a 235-page opinion piece by appeals officials on the reasoning for Vybz denial as well as the affirmation of convictions for his co-defendants.
Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Azim Palmer, was convicted of the 2011 murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams whose body was never found. The appeals judges decided that despite the absence of Williams' body, the jury considered mountains of evidence and witness testimony compelling enough to warrant Palmer's and his co-defendants remaining incarcerated.
Vybz attorney is reportedly planning to appeal the decision.
