An Italian nurse recently confessed to strangling his girlfriend to death after claiming the woman, who worked as a doctor, gave him the COVID-19 virus. Antonio De Pace, 28, phoned the police alerting them of the murder. When authorities arrived, they found De Pace on the floor with his wrists cut laying near the 27-year-old decedent. Police say that De Pace told them “I killed her because she gave me coronavirus,” before taking the man into custody.

Prosecutors described De Pace's claim as "nonsense" after discovering both De Pace and his girlfriend tested negative for the virus. Ironically, De Pace was rushed to the hospital where he and his girlfriend worked where the staff managed to save his life.
