Update 03/24/2020 9:57am:

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to address the leak of the full 2016 phone call between Kanye and Taylor Swift, which led people to accuse Kim and Kanye of not telling the full story surrounding the situation of Kanye asking Taylor for permission to rap about her on his song "Famous."

On Monday (March 23), Taylor started out by addressing the video on Instagram, stating, "Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that was leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family and fans through hell for 4 years)… SWIPE UP to see what really matters." Taylor then linked to WHO and Feeding America, and urged fans to donate during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kim then took to Twitter to respond to the situation, writing, "@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange — that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now." She went on to brand Taylor a liar, stating, "To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that 'Kanye never called to ask for permission…' They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word 'b*tch' was used without her permission."

Taylor's publicist, Tree Paine, then responded to the situation and posted her original statement on the matter, which reads: "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that bitch famous.' PS who did you guys piss off to leak that video?"

Original 03/21/2020 11:27am:

A phone call that went down in 2016 between Kanye West and Taylor Swift in relation to lyrics West wanted to put on his album about Swift leaked in its entirety, and now West and his wife Kim Kardashian are facing backlash for allegedly not telling the whole story about the incident.

On West’s song “Famous,” he said rapped that he feels he and Taylor Swift still might have sex, a bar that Swift said she felt disrespected by. Kanye and Kim Kardashian then responded by leaking a part of a phone call where the rapper discussed the lyrics with Swift. Along with that, Kardashian called the country singer a “snake.” As a result, Swift ended up leaving social media for a long while.

However, it seems that wasn’t the full story, as another clip of the phone conversation between West and Swift has leaked. In the convo, West did tell Swift about some of his lyrics on the song, but did not tell her about the lines where he called her a b***h and also that he is responsible for her getting famous.
