Former drug kingpin, journalist, and co-founder of Death Row Records Michael “Harry-O” Harris was set to be released in the near future according to past reports, but an update on his status reveals that Harris will not be released early. A Daily Mail report in August said that Harris' release was imminent, however, the Central District U.S. Attorney’s office confirms that he will remain in federal custody until October 2028.

Harris' legal team has attempted to get an early release dating back to 2017 with the latest attempt coming in 2019. He is currently serving federal and state time for his role in operating an 11-state drug trafficking empire with close ties to the Cali Cartel in Colombia.
