The cause of death was revealed for up and coming Minnesota rapper Lexii Alijai, which was revealed to be mixed fentanyl and ethanol toxicity. It was also ruled that her death was accidental. Lexii died shortly after 10:30 am on New Year’s Day at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel in Minneapolis.
Lexii released her first album, Growing Pains, in 2017 after co-writing Kehlani’s 2015 single, "Jealous," which she's also featured on. Kehlani is scheduled to perform at First Avenue in Minneapolis on February 19, which will benefit a recording arts scholarship fund established in Alijai’s honor.
