According to multiple outlets, Tekashi 6ix9ine's request to finish the remaining two years of his sentence on house arrest has been denied. 6ix9ine made the request after claiming that he would be in danger if forced to finish his sentence inside a federal prison.
Judge Paul Engelmayer said of the decision:
“The Court recognizes that, as a result of security and related considerations that have resulted in his placement in a private jail, Mr. Hernandez, while incarcerated, may not have the same access to rehabilitative opportunities and programs as other Bureau of Prisons inmates," adding that it is necessary for 6ix9ine to serve out his sentence in prison to "reflect the seriousness of his crimes."

According to TMZ, Tekashi 6ix9ine has filed paperwork through his attorney Lance Lazzaro, requesting that he be allowed to serve the duration of his 24-month sentence under home confinement or a community correctional facility. 6ix9ine is citing his personal safety as the reason for the filing, noting that the Nine Trey Bloods will seek to retaliate against him for his cooperation with federal officials.
