According to reports, people in a city in Puerto Rico discovered a warehouse full of supplies like cots, water, and emergency supplies meant for victims of Hurricane Maria, the devastating natural disaster that left Puerto Rico in shambles. Since then, video footage of the discovery has gone up on the internet, which resulted in the director of the island’s emergency management agency being fired.

Official Carlos Acevedo was fired by Governor Wanda Vazquez, who said the inaction by him was unacceptable. The supplies were reportedly piled up in the warehouse since 2017 according to an investigation that was conducted. Vazquez said, “There are thousands of people who have made sacrifices to help those in the south, and it is unforgivable that resources were kept in the warehouse.”
