R Kelly is currently wrapped up in a child pornography case, along with his former business manager Derrel McDavid, who is being tried as a co-defendant in the case as well. Now, Kelly has reportedly filed to have the child pornography charges removed due to the statute of limitations.

McDavid filed a motion to have charges related to him dropped, saying because of the statute of limitations, he could only be held accountable for getting rid of sex tapes that feature R. Kelly and minors up until 2014. McDavid noted the charges should be dropped because the alleged incriminating incidents took place between 1997 to 2002. As a result, Kelly reportedly filed the same motion on October 28. R. Kelly is set to appear in a Brooklyn court for his federal sex trafficking case this week.
