Democratic leaders gathered at the White House for a meeting about Syria, and during the conversation, they claim that President Trump had a "meltdown."

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer told reporters, "He was insulting, particularly to the speaker. She kept her cool completely, but he called her a third-rate politician. This was not a dialogue, it was sort of a diatribe. A nasty diatribe, not focused on the facts." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi added, "What we witnessed on the part of the President was a meltdown, sad to say."

Trump, who called Pelosi a "third-rate politician" during the meeting, claimed that it was the House Speaker that had the meltdown. He posted a photo of Pelosi pointing her finger at him while standing up at the meeting along with the caption, "Nervous Nancy's unhinged meltdown!" He added, "Nancy Pelosi needs help fast! There is either something wrong with her “upstairs,” or she just plain doesn’t like our great Country. She had a total meltdown in the White House today. It was very sad to watch. Pray for her, she is a very sick person!"

Pelosi later addressed the situation with the media, stating, "My question to him is — is Saudi Arabia home? Why are our troops going to Saudi Arabia if you promised to bring them home?" She stated that Trump responded by saying that the Saudis are "paying for it." Pelosi added, "It just didn't add up. But what it did do was cause a meltdown on the part of the president because he was unhappy with those questions."
