The NBA has been at the center of a geopolitical controversy following the tweets of Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey who spoke on the Hong Kong protests which effectively insulted the people of China. LeBron James spoke with the media and opined on the situation, particularly as it pertained to Morey's comments. “I don’t want to get into a ... feud with Daryl Morey but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand and he spoke," said James. He went on to say that despite Americans having freedom of speech, folks need to bear in mind that free speech does have its share ramifications

It was reported early Monday that LeBron spoke up for the players to NBA commissioner Adam Silver and said that the players should not be obligated to speak on the matter before the NBA has.
