Jason Roger Pope, 42, is a popular DJ in South Carolina who goes by the stage name "DJ KID." According to reports, Pope was arrested back in August and charged with three counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, promoting prostitution of a minor, and kidnapping.
The arrest warrant for Pope stated that the 42-year-old recruited women and underage girls to have sex with them. Pope's victims reported that the man gave them marijuana and alcohol before having them perform sex acts. One victim said Pope paid her $500 after their encounter.
While stories about Pope infecting over 600 women in South Carolina with HIV/AIDS have yet to be verified, victims of his have spoken to reporters and authorities about their fears of contracting an STD/STI from the man.
Pope's court hearing on Monday lasted only 10 minutes after his defense team announced his intent to withdraw his bond hearing request. As a result, Pope will remain in police custody.
