Michael Jackson's former bodyguard, Javon Beard is reportedly serving an 18-year prison sentence after being convicted of armed robbery. Beard, 40, is being housed at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, Nevada and is already a year into his sentence which carries a mandatory six-year minimum of the 18-year sentence.
According to reports, Beard was suffering from depression and had “a huge come-down prompted by Jackson and the sex abuse allegations," said a close friend of his. The source also stated that "after Michael’s death, which hit them both hard, Bill carried on with his old life but Javon wanted to carry on living the showbiz lifestyle he’d become used to," adding, “He’s a nice guy but he just got carried away with Michael’s success – and it was tough to deal with once that disappeared."
Beard reportedly appealed his conviction but lost the appeal.
