R. Kelly is looking to get his legal situation in order, as the singer has allegedly gotten some of his industry contacts to help him secure Michael Jackson’s former lawyer—Tom Mesereau as his representation.
Mesereau is known for defending Michael Jackson against child molestation accusations and successfully was able to get the late superstar acquitted of all charges. In order for R. Kelly to hire Mesereau, he would have to drop his current lawyer Steven Greenberg. Kelly’s present lawyer has responded to the reports, saying it’s “a complete load of crap.” As of now, R. Kelly is facing charges in Illinois, Minnesota, and may be facing charges in Atlanta and Detroit.
