According to reports, comedian Dave Chappelle is set to host a block party in Dayton, OH in honor of the mass shooting victims from the horrific incident just weeks ago. The party is scheduled to go down on August 25 in the Oregon District, the site of the mass shooting.
Chappelle, although known for hailing from the DMV area, grew up in Yellow Springs, OH which sits 20 miles outside of Dayton. Called the Gem City Shine, the event "will honor the lives lost and to reclaim the community’s favorite places to shop, dine and enjoy time with family and friends. There will be several ways for attendees to contribute to both The Dayton Foundation’s Oregon District Tragedy Fund and Oregon District Business Association, which is assisting local businesses with recovery," according to the event's page.
The block party is free but if partygoers decide to donate $20, they'll receive a t-shirt. This event is set to be for Dayton residents only.
