Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter in order to dispell the myth surrounding LeBron James and his perceived omnipotence in the NBA. Former Iowa State star and ex-NBA player Royce White recently made waves after he called out LeBron for not getting Carmelo Anthony a shot on the Lakers. White believes that LeBron has the power to make those type of moves, especially for a player he considers to be a friend. However, James' former teammate Kendrick Perkins said that the idea that LeBron can snap his finger and get someone on the roster is false.

Perkins explained how LeBron attempted to get Carmelo on the Cavaliers but the front office said no to the request. Perk tweeted, "Man Bron told the Cavs he wanted Melo and they Cavs said no to him." This runs counter to the narrative of LeBron being the coach and general manager of his teams and maybe speaks more to teams across the league just don't want to deal with Melo. For that, Perkins offered up some advice to Carmelo:

"Listen I agree Melo should be In league on somebody roster for damn show, but he needs to follow in Vince Carter footsteps, because when Vince knew he wasn’t that dude no more he embraced a lesser role with open arms and now he’s 42 years old and about to play his 22nd season!"
