Anne Cockrell, 42, was arrested on Saturday after authorities responded to a domestic violence situation at a Midvale, Utah hotel. According to reports, Cockrell entered her parents' hotel room and began beating her mother with a cane and an oxygen tank. Cockrell's father tried intervening only to be bludgeoned by the oxygen tank as well.
In a further attempt to hurt and humiliate her parents, Cockrell poured Tide laundry detergent while repeating that she wanted to kill them both, according to the probable cause statement. The father suffered lacerations and bruises while the mother's condition has not been disclosed.
Cockrell has been charged with two counts of aggravated abuse towards a disabled or elderly person and two counts of aggravated assault
